History of the Salina Diocese

The Diocese of Salina was established on August 2, 1887 as the Diocese of Concordia. On December 23, 1944 the See was transferred to Salina thus establishing the Diocese of Salina. The present Sacred Heart Cathedral structure was dedicated on June 6, 1953.
