Sacred Heart Cathedral Councils,
Committees and Organizations
The Parish Council, with the Pastor, is a coordinating and unifying leadership group which enables the individual members of the parish to have access to the processes which guide and support parish life. This is accomplished through Spiritual Formation, Parish Planning, Policy Development and Communication with the parish family and the larger Church. The council has a membership of fifteen parishioners who are elected by the parish community or appointed by the pastor. The Council divides its responsibilities among commissions, each of which addresses a specific area of parish life and mission. These commissions include Education, Liturgy and Art and Environment, Christian Service - Family Life, Publicity, Evangelization, Stewardship and Maintenance.
Purpose: The Finance Council exists to work with and advise the pastor regarding the finances of the parish and the status of the buildings and grounds. Needs: Parishioners with skills in financial management, planning and accounting.
